Description
This octopus has real presence — a domed head, glassy round eyes, and eight sprawling arms cast in solid brass, each one textured with the pebbled, suckered skin of the real creature. It’s hand-cast using traditional lost-wax casting, a process where every mold is used only once, so the fine surface detail you see here came straight from an artisan’s original sculpt rather than a repeatable die.
The finish shifts beautifully across the piece — deep bronze-brown in the recesses, brightening to warm gold along the raised curves of the arms and head, the kind of natural patina variation that only comes from hand-finishing, not spraying. Because each figure is poured and finished individually, you’ll notice small differences in color depth and surface texture from one octopus to the next — these aren’t flaws, they’re simply what happens when a human hand, not a machine, shapes every piece.
