Description
Three mushrooms rise from a weathered burl of parasite wood, their caps carved and gently tinted in soft greens and honeyed browns that echo real fungi found on a forest floor. Each cap shows fine hand-cut gill marks and slight dimpling, while the stems taper unevenly, exactly as a carver’s blade leaves them rather than a lathe.
The base itself is the quiet star of the piece — a gnarled, naturally-formed piece of parasite wood, complete with hollows, bark texture, and a raw cut end left unpolished. Nothing here was smoothed into uniformity; the mushrooms were carved separately and fitted onto this particular knot of wood, so the composition you receive follows the shape the wood itself dictated.
Because each mushroom is shaped by hand rather than pressed from a mould, you’ll notice small differences in cap size, tilt, and coloring from one to the next — not flaws, but the trace of a real carving tool moving through real wood.
