Description
This charging bull, or banteng, is hand-cast in solid brass and finished with a verdigris patina that shifts from deep teal to pale turquoise across its lowered shoulders and flank. The polished brass horns, hooves, and curled tail are left bare, catching the light against the weathered blue-green body — a contrast that’s built into the casting process, not painted on afterward.
Look closely and you’ll spot small casting marks and a tiny raised fleck near the shoulder, the kind of detail that only shows up when a piece is poured and finished by hand rather than pressed out by machine. Because the patina is applied by hand, its coverage varies slightly from one figure to the next — some areas will look more mottled or uneven than others, and that variation is simply part of how this finish comes to life.
With its head down and horns forward, this banteng has a sense of motion and weight that suits a desk, shelf, or console table. If you’re looking for a gift with more presence than the usual desk ornament — for someone building a collection of brass animal figures, or just drawn to bold, sculptural objects — this one has real character to offer.
The Artisan’s Mark
Each figure begins as molten brass, poured by hand using traditional lost-wax casting. Small casting marks, subtle variation in the patina, and slight differences in weight or finish are the natural result of this process — not imperfections, but the artisan’s signature on every piece.
Images
Our photos are unfiltered and unretouched, so what you see is the piece exactly as it left our workshop. The single exception is the staging image, created with AI purely to show the bull’s size and proportions in context.
