Description
Small in scale but bursting with color, this hand-painted skull figurine transforms a classic memento mori into a joyful piece of folk art. Cast in resin and finished in a deep dark blue base, the surface is layered with intricate dot-work patterns in reds, yellows, pinks, and blues, radiating outward in the tradition of dot-mandala painting.
Every contour of the skull, from the brow ridge to the toothy grin, is used as a canvas. The eye sockets are outlined in scalloped white detailing with hand-drawn iris motifs, while swirling yellow vines trace across the cranium, adding movement to the dense constellation of dots. No two skulls are painted quite the same, a reminder of the human hand behind each piece.
With its glossy finish and compact size, this skull makes a striking addition to a shelf, desk, or curio cabinet. It reads as much like a piece of miniature sculpture as a figurine, equally at home in an eclectic gallery wall setup or as a stand-alone conversation piece.
