This small elephant is hand-cast in solid brass, trunk raised in the classic gesture of good fortune, and finished with a deep, oxidized patina that lets the raised brass detailing on its ears, back blanket, and tusks catch the light. Along its flank you’ll spot a tiny cast horse motif tucked into the decorative panel — a small, deliberate touch that only shows up on close inspection, a reminder of the hand behind the mould.

Made in Bali using traditional lost-wax casting, each figure passes through a maker’s hands from molten metal to finished form, and the greenish-black oxidization is applied by hand rather than sprayed on uniformly. Because of this, you’ll notice the coverage isn’t perfectly even — some areas show more brass peeking through, others sit darker and deeper — and that unevenness is simply part of how a hand-applied finish behaves, not a flaw to worry about.
