Look closely at the base and you’ll spot the etched swirls and floral scrollwork along the cats’ bodies, along with small casting marks and darker pooling in the crevices where the brass settled during pouring. Because each figure is poured and finished individually rather than stamped out on a line, you’ll notice gentle variation in the brass’s shine and shading from one piece to the next — a natural result of hand-casting, not a flaw to worry about.

Each figure begins as molten brass, poured by hand using traditional lost-wax casting. Small casting marks, subtle variation in the patina, and slight differences in weight or finish are the natural result of this process — not imperfections, but the artisan’s signature on every piece.
